When I overlocked the tabs, I didnt want to make too much bulk, so I overlocked the sides till the space tip seperately, then I overlocked the spade tips together to cut the thread bulk.

You can see the curve that was given via preforations on the pattern where the sewer is to curve the line like with the cut side.

Then I stitched around the instructed edges turned the piece right side out, and pressed flat.

Step 4 was interesting. It was a gap that allowed for the tabs in the back to be adjusted. Im a stickler for raw edges, in that I hate them, but I couldnt overlock this small area too well, so I just put a reinforcement stitch across the bottom, then did as the instructions stated.
