A Bag of Tricks for Home Sewing

There is no date on this booklet, but from the styles, and the drawing on the inside of the Mother taking her daughter 'into town' via horse and buggy, Ill assume very late 30s when feed sack dresses were popular.
It has the average dimensions for the sacks in their according sizes. The booklet has no patterns, but its very cool.

Short-Cuts to Sewing Success by Du Barry pattens ©1940

This booklet, by far, is my favorite of all the ones I have. I LOVE Du Barry patterns, but the illustrations and guides and explanations in this book are some of the best I have found anywhere. It has a great section on alterations, and guides for measuring and just about everything you can think of, except pants. I use the tips in the book in nearly every garment I make. Not too bad when it only cost $12 on eBay!

This book is cool. It has great pictures and explanations of things. Also, there is a free dicky pattern inside! So 1940's!
